FROCESTER'S Premier Two title assault is back on track after Nick Trainor's belligerent 140 and Ali Bressington's six-wicket haul saw the Pounds Close side overwhelm Stroud.
In Caribbean like conditions it was Ali Bell's Stroud side, buoyed by two consecutive victories, started the brightest.
Gareth Haines had Frocester rocking as he sent back Ed Bressington (6) and Adam Robson (5) to leave Frocester wobbling.
However, Trainor and Ali Bressington (38) took control before Bressington was trapped by
Martyn Kimber who induced an edge to Sam Cook.
Trainor's century duly arrived in the 45th over and he was superbly aided by Ashley Davis (62) as the pair put on 159. Frocester eventually posted an imposing 314-5.
Stroud needed a positive start but found former Gloucestershire duo Ben Gannon and Ali Bressington in formidable form.
Stroud fell to twelve for three as Bressington bowled Keith Daniels and Ben Pockett. Gannon bowled Mark Bryan.
The run chase became even harder with Ed Bressington bowling the dangerous Kimber (12). A brief flurry from Bell (33) and James Pockett (24) stemmed the flow somewhat but Trainor's imperious knock laid the platform for a comfortable victory.
FROCESTER travel to promotion rivals Thornbury on Saturday and have been boosted by the arrival of former Gloucestersahire star Paul Lazenbury.
