STROUD runner Julian Hough raced to fifth spot on a sun-kissed evening at the Frampton 10km Road Race.

STROUD set a new record for the Cotswold Way relay race this year, by entering five teams, a total of 50 runners, a feat not yet achieved by the bigger clubs entering, such as Bath, Cheltenham and Bristol. The relay takes place in the entire 110-mile length of The Cotswold Way from Chipping Campden to Bath, passing through Winchcombe, Cleeve Common, Seven Springs, Painswick Beacon, Ebley, Dursley, Wotton and Old Sodbury. Each stage averages 11 miles, with between 250 and 550m of ascent to climb.
The senior men's 'A' team came in second, to Bath A/C and the veteran men's team 20th overall and fifth in category. The mixed team finished 26th overall and eleventh in category. The ladies team finished 42nd overall and third in category. Notable performances came from stage winners Martin Humphreys, Mike Davis, Lee Christmas and Paul McDonnel, Louise Little (3rd Lady), Joe Fifield (2nd Lady) and the oldest participant Tony Christmas (U70).
