THREE pupils showed who really rules Sheepscombe Primary School when they took over as head teachers for the day.
The trio won the honour during a competition at the school's summer fete.
This meant game-for-a-laugh head Stan Giles had to swap places, and returned to school as a pupil.
One pupil from each class was chosen - Josephine James, 11, Tim Mahendran, eight, and Robert James, five.
As part of the event, the new 'heads' allowed their fellow pupils to bring toys in for the day and do away with their uniforms.
Mr Giles said: "They organised the day themselves, arranged work for the pupils and gave the teachers a test - if we got any questions wrong we had to do forfeits.
"Luckily they didn't make me write any lines - but I was made to run around the orchid for getting a maths question wrong."
Mr Giles was also made to wear a special uniform for the event - a T-shirt that said 'JoJo rules ok.'
Josephine, Tim and Robert even took the school assembly, and used it as a chance to tell the teachers off for misbehaving.
All three relished their time in charge.
Josephine said: "The best thing about the day was allowing my friends to have a really fun day."
Robert said added: "I liked bossing everyone around - especially my friends - and I even gave someone detention for being naughty."
As part of the day, the three were also given a challenge to win free ice-cream for everyone in the school from supermarket Tesco.
Mr Giles added: "The great thing about it is that because it's a small school we know the pupils well and know that we can trust them."
