Fun, culture and education day

OVERSEAS youth will be descending on Nailsworth for an environmentally packed day of fun, culture and education today (Wednesday, July 27).

Around 30 youths from many of Gloucestershire's linked communities around the world (including Russia, Jamaica, USA, Kenya, Turkey, Poland and many more) will be visiting Ruskin Mill in Nailsworth for a hands-on educational programme.

The event is part of the International Youth Conference Footstep 10: Creating Tomorrow, Together Today taking place in Cheltenham until July 31.

As part of the visit, there will be a free public performance by the renowned Polish folk group Kadzioleczka.

They will be performing in the Mortimer Gardens at 10.45am. The 13 member group, which comes from the Polish city of Torun will be in Gloucestershire for 4 days as part of the Rendezvous Society's 20th anniversary programme of events.

They will also be performing in the special cultural evening, Julybilation, at Cheltenham Racecourse on Friday, July 29 at 7pm. Tickets are available from Cheltenham Tourist Information Centre.
