Jacob is moving up the ladder

STONEHOUSE'S Jacob Kirby of Stonehouse is racing his way to success.

Having started racing his 600cc Suzuki GSX-R this year as a novice he is already attracting a huge amount of interest and is lying fifth in the North Gloucestershire Road Racing Club's, 650cc Street-Stock Championship.

The Club is one of only a handful in the country racing regularly on Britain's best national circuits, such as Silverstone and Brands Hatch.

Jacob, 20, said, "It has been an exciting year and thanks to everybody who has encouraged and supported me through my first season."

Last Sunday at Donington Park Jacob came seventh and is waiting to see where he will now be rated in the Championship.

Jacob will be battling for championship points at Pembrey on September 4 and Thruxton on October 1.
