A plentiful feast

THERE was plenty to celebrate in Chalford on Saturday, as revellers worked their way through over 1,000 plates of food.

The Chalford Feast festivities began at 2pm with children dressed up for a traditional village procession from the New Red Lion car park to Chalford playing field.

As the sun went down, villagers enjoyed music from local bands including SubJustice, The Dream Poets, Ska Daddy and The Jaam.

"There were far more people than we thought there would be," said Dave Andrews, who helped organised the event.

"We made 100 flags and they looked fantastic blowing in the wind."

"The whole day was a huge success. I would like to thank all the people who came along and made it such a great day."

Co-organiser Siobhan Wooster added: "It was a lovely atmosphere. Seeing that many people there was wonderful."
