Wacky group attack charts

ZANY Nailsworth rock outfit the Mad Cows are set to release their summer anthem Am I Bothered as a single after it went down a storm on the festival circuit.

The foot-stomping, irreverent hit became the band's signature tune after it's success at Nailstock in April and proved popular with festival crowds - including Glastonbury.

And the crowd-pleasing ditty is now set to be officially released throughout the south west on Friday, October 21 after being picked up by record label Cat Scratch Fever.

Mad Cows frontman Hamish Guerrini said: "It has been a bit of an anthem round festivals this summer. There has been so much demand for it and various people have been very excited about it."

He added that some of the song, the first single the festival favourites have released, will have to be bleeped out so it is suitable for the radio.

Along with another Mad Cows number - the name of which is not really suitable for a family newspaper - it earned the band a severe ticking off from Glastonbury organisers after a performance in the Healing Fields this summer.

"It is quite uncompromising - rude even - and I understand it may be offensive to some people in the wrong sort of atmosphere," said Hamish.

"I really couldn't say how it will do. But it is very exciting to think something you have written is so enjoyable to people."

The single will be officially launched at the Green Park Tavern in Bath on October 21 as part of a glam-filled event from Nailstock favourites the Pussyfoot Collective.
