Stroud Athetics
Several Stroud athletes ran their first ever Gwent League meeting at Bath University last Sunday.
Daniel Trueman showed promise with a good run in the under 11 boys. Star athlete Iain Whitfield felt underpar on the day but still managed 2nd in the under 20 men's race.
Verona Batchelor became a valuable 5th team member for the Senior Ladies and Kenny Roberts helped the senior men with a solid performance.
It was however 2 team performances that stood out. The under 13 boys, perhaps not so "fresh" after hard schools races the previous day continued in the top team slot, led home by Tom Curr, with the Senior Ladies having one of their best team results for many years.
