Teenager Curr is cream of the crop

TOM CURR is a name that could one-day become synonymous with the athletics world.

The Marling School student swept to prominence after banking his first national title in Leeds at the tender age of 13. Tom produced a stunning performance to lift the English Schools Cross Cup junior boys title.

Despite being a keen footballer, rugby, cricket and tennis player, the remarkably mature youngster is pin-pointing athletics as his chosen sport.

Tom, who is a member of Stroud and District AC said: "I enjoy all sports but it's athletics that is my favourite sport."

Contender

His performance will now make him one of the contenders for a top 10 finish at the English Schools Championship next spring.

His coach Chris Frapwell is backing the promising teenager for bigger and better things as his burgeoning career gathers pace.

Chris added: "Tom is a top prospect and could compete 2012 Olympics if he continues to progress."
