Robinson tunes up for Melbourne

DAN ROBINSON continued his build up to the Commonwealth Games next March by just missing out on his personal best at the Seville half-marathon, in Spain, on Sunday.

The 30-year-old Nailsworth runner, finished eighth in a creditable time of 64mins 26secs.

Robinson's best of 64:23 was set at the World Championships in 2001. The Olympic marathon runner opted not to go with the pace set by the Kenyan squad.

"I fond myself running alone," said Robinson. "It was a solid run but disappointing that I was on my own, that cost me a much faster time."
