Beckingham's blast earns points

Gloucestershire County Yate Town Res 1 King's Stanley 1

MIKE BECKINGHAM'S strike saw King's Stanley share the spoils at high-flying Yate Town.

Stanley suffered an early blow when Nick Rieger was forced to leave the field with a hamstring injury. However, Stanley were the first to break the deadlock on 30 minutes. Scott Cumberlin and Matt Casey combined well down the left for Mike Beckingham to strike.

After the break Danny Stephens saw his stinging strike well saved. Yate gradually came back into the game but they were comfortably contained by a solid Stanley defence with Paul Webster having an outstanding game and substitute Matt Davis working tirelessly in midfield.

None the less Yate found parity on 75 minutes. A tremendous save by Martyn Pearce saw the ball drop fortuitously, enabling it to be stabbed home.
