WHITMINSTER Little Tigers playgroup is looking for a new habitat as the village hall they currently use will soon undergo refurbishment.
The parents of 20 children rely on the playgroup - the only one in the village.
And the best solution so far - which is subject to Ofsted approval - is that the group relocate to a community centre in Frampton on Severn over a mile away.
"Some parents have already said that if we have to move they won't continue to bring their children," said Tania Allen, 38, chairman of the playgroup.
"One family for example only has one car which the father takes to work so there will be no way their kids can get to playgroup."
Builders start work at the village hall at the end of March and the completion date has been provisionally set for January next year.
Mrs Allen, a mother of one, stressed the importance of the playgroup and appealed to community for help.
"Many of the children go on to the primary school and this move will affect two school years," she said.
"And on the first day at school this year there wasn't a single tear.
"We are hoping somebody could lend us a space or a portable building or even an awning which could be attached to the playing fields at the school."
