Odejayi goes so close

FORMER Forest Green striker Kayode Odejayi missed his chance of FA Cup glory against Premiership Newcastle United.

Under-fire Graeme Souness watched his side gain a far from convincing 2-0 victory against a plucky Cheltenham side guided by captain fantastic.

John Finnigan, coupled with the power and strength of Odejayi, who gave the unimpressive £8million Jean-Alain Boumsong an uncomfortable afternoon.

Odejayi had the greatest opportunity to bring Cheltenham back into the game when he spun Boumsong beat off an attemped challenge from Celestine Babayaro, neatly evaded Shay Given only to fire wide into the side-netting.
