NOMINATIONS are being sought for Stroud Town Council's 2006 awards. The awards celebrate the dedication of those who have committed themselves to the town, whether as a volunteer or trader.
There are five categories.
The civic award is for the organisation that has contributed most in the previous year to the life of the town.
The community award is for the person whose voluntary work has made a difference to groups or individuals.
The trader of the year award is for shops or businesses in the town that have gone out of their way to provide good customer service.
The young person of the year award is for someone under 25 who has overcome personal difficulties or made a significant contribution to the community.
Finally, the design award is for good design that enhances the town. This does not necessarily have to be a building.
If you know of anyone who deserves one of these awards, please nominate them by filling in a simple form, available by emailing council@stroudtown.gov.uk or from the town council's offices in London Road, Stroud.
The closing date for nominations is Thursday, May 4.
