Quigley enters the fray with Jentin Racing

LUKE QUIGLEY will return to the Jentin Racing fold for 2006, this time contesting the Superstock Championship while team-mate Jon Kirkham continues his Superbike preparations.

The Stroud based team has made the switch to Suzuki this year and once again will have the support of Fraser's of Gloucester and Harris Performance.

Last season Quigley stepped up to the Superbike Championship for the first time after starting the season in Supersport with another team. In what was an unsettled year he became the squad's third rider as they struggled to regain the form which saw them comfortably win the Superbike Cup with current MotoGP rider James Ellison.

As team principal Bernard Toleman explained, the team were now approaching the 2006 season with renewed enthusiasm.

"We had a great 2004 with James and we are very proud that the Jentin team were able to act as a springboard for his entry into MotoGP. Last year though was really tough for a number of reasons and we are looking for another big year from our two young charges in Kirkham and Quigley."

In what was a baptism of fire for Quigley he learnt a great deal from his Superbike experience and is looking to consolidate his career this year. "Every year I've felt like I've moved forward but last year was really tough.

Moving teams and championships made it difficult to settle. Towards the end of the season we were just starting to show signs that we were getting on top of things, picking up a couple of points along the way.

"I have to be realistic though and for budgetary reasons Superstock is the way forward for the time being. The plan is to go out there and hopefully win the championship and get the attention of teams and sponsors. If I need to re-group and consolidate this year then so be it."
