MEMBERS of a Stroud disability support group will feature in a national campaign to raise awareness about supporting people with learning disabilities.
Pam, Gemma, Matthew and Keith, who do not want to disclose their surnames, will appear in adverts, radio spots, web sites and leaflets for equal opportunities organisation TACT.
They are all members of TACT Gloucestershire, which is based in Stroud, and were selected from hundreds of volunteers to lead the campaign, which includes a new website, www.tactltd.org.
The campaign highlights how TACT champions independent living in employment, sport and recreation and empowers people with disabilities.
The four also took part in photo shoots for TACT's brochures, leaflets and web sites, as well as the charity's annual report and company stationery.
TACT's UK director of development Colin Campbell said: "They were delighted to be picked to front the marketing campaign.
"They really enjoyed their appearances in front of the camera and on the radio.
"The whole experience has been very rewarding and something all of us will remember for a long time.
"Many activities that you and I take for granted are often out of reach for many of our members.
"Imagine the impact that participating in horse riding or gardening can have, raising and boosting confidence."
TACT Gloucestershire has been expanding rapidly and it is hoped the campaign will enable it to recruit more full- and part-time staff in the region.
It recently pioneered the Hockey Inclusion Project (or HIP Hockey for short), to introduce hockey to those who do not usually get the opportunity to play.
Supported by Stroud District Council, HIP Hockey has received nearly £30,000 in funding to pay for a coach, pitch hire and equipment.
