TWO plays by Cheltenham playwright Bill Cronshaw, Free and Easy and Sunny and the Nightshiners, come to The Space in Stroud next week.
Produced by Focus Theatre, Free and Easy is set in a northern pub in the 1960s, a time before theme pubs, 'pub grub' and karaoke replaced the 'free and easy' nights when pub regulars, usually under the influence of alcohol, could become stars for the night in the function room.
With a host of musical numbers and a story line that will keep you chuckling, Free and Easy offers light-hearted theatre, and features West End actress Julie Henderson, who now lives in the Stroud district.
Also showing is Sunny and the Nightshiners, a play about Sunny Black, who comes up with a fantastic and fantastical way of dealing with bullying.
Free and Easy and Sunny and the Nightshiners come to The Space on Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1. Tickets for Free and Easy are £9 or £7 concessions, whilst tickets for Sunny and the Nightshiners are £5.
They are available from Stroud Tourist Information Centre. Free and Easy is at 7.45pm, Sunny and the Nightshiners at 4.30pm on Friday and 11am, 2pm and 4.30pm on Saturday.
