TWO young Stroud actors are to launch their production company, Chariot Productions, with a re-jigged version of a play they performed at the Stroud Fringe Festival in 2004.
Chariot Productions was founded in 2003 by Harriet Banks and Rosie Mason. "However, the creative, trusting relationship that forms the backbone of this company started in 1980 in a two person pram," said Harriet.
They are launching Chariot properly with Scrap, formerly known as I Know What You're Thinking And I Still Like You, which was described in the SNJ as being "full of thought provoking belly laughs... a genetic splice of Samuel Beckett and the funniest Laurel and Hardy".
"The show's back by semi-popular demand," said Rosie, "and we'll be taking it to The Space in Stroud on Saturday, May 6 and, confusingly, The Space in London - it's on the Isle of Dogs - shortly afterwards."
"We're committed to making theatre in Gloucestershire," added Harriet.
"Look out for us in theatres, halls, fields and maybe even empty shop windows.
"As soon as possible we want to bring a third person on board in an administrative role to take us forward as a professional company.
"Someone sparky and organised who is rooting for us. We can offer them training and mentoring from the Theatre Production Office and initially profit share and then a paid role."
Scrap is suitable for all ages and takes place at The Space, Lansdown, Stroud at 3pm and 8pm on Saturday, May 6. Tickets are £6 or £4 concessions on the door.
