I MENTIONED earlier that when I was about 13 I used to go along to the Mission Hall at Bread Street, Ruscombe, and I did at that time really want to follow the Lord but as I said, the lure of the things of the world were very great, and I am sorry to say I went after them.

I have written about this earlier.

Nevertheless, I found, as many other have found, that God is gracious and uses many means to bring us back.

My experience came of this on May 21, 1944.

I was in Burma and I broke my leg quite badly and was put aboard a train.

There were hundreds of soldiers there who had been wounded. We travelled right down to south India to a military hospital at a place called Trimilgary near Secunderabad in Hyderabad state.

That day I was in hospital and a sister came up to my bed and started talking to me about the LORD, and I told her of my earlier days. Her answer was "How much of your life are you giving to GOD, perhaps five percent?" She said, "GOD doesn't want five percent, He wants you one hundred percent".

This troubled me and at 10 o'clock that night, I said to the LORD, "I want to give you one hundred percent of my life", and as soon as I told GOD that, I had absolute peace in my heart.
