BLESSED be SNJ readers, may the rain fall gently on your fields.

It is happy birthday Stroud farmers' market once again and we have achieved teen status as it is now 13 years since the humble beginnings in 1999.

The fact that the market has achieved the extraordinary success that it has done over the years is, as I am always saying, thanks to the incomputable chemistry between the town, the people, the produce and the producers.

The market was voted, by members of the public, in an AONB poll, as one of the Seven Wonders of The Cotswolds next to Westonbirt Arboretum, the Rollright Stones and Cotswold stone itself, amazing.

As it is another birthday we thought we had better have a cake so come along at 11am for free cake, and then from noon we have the launch of the Mad Cows album Free Cow with a live set from this band of merry pranksters.

Elsewhere this Saturday Five Valleys Cordials, are back for their monthly stall and Overton Organic Eggs returns after replenishing its flock.

With sweet teeth catered for at Sweet Hearts and Cotswold Puddings, and lots of cheeses, wines, juices and cider; never mind the great meat selection, all is in place for feasts for all.
