Memories of the canals needed
THE Junction Heritage Project wants to hear people's memories of the canals from the First World War onwards so they can be archived electronically.
The history of the daily lives of the people of the parishes of Frampton on Severn, Fretherne with Saul and Framilode and Whitminster are closely tied to the canals and waterways linked at The Junction.
The project hopes the archive will be used by schools, historians and researchers and canal enthusiasts.
They want to hear about farming, industry, leisure, children and young people, boats and boaters.
Chairman Iris Capps said: "However your memory comes - photos, documents, verbal anecdotes the archive can record them.
"The archive provides an opportunity to record stories of everyday life before they are lost forever."
