DANISH bluegrass duo The Tenderhearted sing songs about moonshine, murder, unrequited love and religion.

The band, which features Signe Ellegård Borch on vocals and acoustic guitar, and Christian Otto Feierskov Andreasen on vocals and mandolin, are inspired by the brother duet tradition, which was popular in the United States during the 20s, 30s and 40s, before bluegrass had fully developed. It was simple and clean-sounding, using only a guitar and mandolin and two-part close harmony singing style.

The Tenderhearted will perform at the Crown and Sceptre, on Spider Lane, Stroud on Saturday at 8.30pm.
