MADNESS are set to perform at Gloucester Rugby stadium later this year as part of the UK’s biggest ever live open air tour.

Fresh off the road from their sell out 2014 arena tour, the Nutty Boys are set to perform at Kingsholm on Saturday, May 30, with tickets on sale from Friday.

In its announcement, the band said: “Come see, come see! The world’s strongest band perform incredible feats live! Marvel as Madness lift an enormous set of polished pop songs high in the air, single handed!”

Suggs and the ska seven piece are touring from May to September, taking in 19 shows at some of the greatest sporting venues around the country, including racecourses, cricket grounds, rugby and football stadiums.

Gloucester Rugby chief executive Stephen Vaughan said: “Madness is the perfect band to be playing at Kingsholm. They are incredible live and Kingsholm has proved itself to be a terrific music venue.

“We expect this concert to be a sell out and can’t wait to hear Madness roll back the decades with their slate of well-known hits.”

The set-list will include all the old favourites, such as schoolyard memoir Baggy Trousers, and Our House, which the band performed on the roof of Buckingham Palace in June 2012, as part of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Tickets go on general sale this Friday, at 9am.

Priced at £35 or £99 for families, they can be booked via Gloucester Rugby’s website: www.gloucesterrugby.co.uk/madness
