THREE classics of the cello/piano repertoire are set to be performed at a concert in Stroud this week.

Pianist Geoffrey Poole and cellist Benjamin Dry will present the pieces at a recital at the Christian Community Church, 73 Cainscross Road on Friday at 7.30pm.

The programme features Beethoven’s A-major Sonata, Boccherini’s A-major Sonata and Brahms’ F-major Sonata.

Geoffrey Poole is a pianist, composer, and former professor of composition at Bristol University. As a pianist he has given many recitals both of classical and contemporary music.

Benjamin Dry recently moved from South Africa to the UK, where he is now teaching the cello and performing. He studied music in the US and has performed in and around Cape Town, SA.
