YOUNG ska fanatics bring the sound of Jamaica to Stroud this weekend.
The Mighty John Street Ska Orchestra is set to play at a free gig in Stratford Park's bandstand on Saturday, from 1pm till 4pm.
Made up of 13 musicians, aged from 12 to 19, the orchestra covers ska tunes made popular in the 60s and 70s.
Featuring a nine-piece brass section, plus bass, guitar, drums and keys, the group have been practising all year for the Ska in the Park Picnic, and are really looking forward to what will be their first outdoor performance.
They now have a full set of classic ska tunes made famous by Jamaican bands such as the Skatalites.
In their repertoire you’ll find the James Bond theme tune, the Guns of Navarone, Skaravan, A Message to you Rudy, and more.
