STROUD choir, the Thames Head Singers are joining forces with the Painswick Singers for a musical celebration of Christmas to be performed in the beautiful surroundings of St. Mary’s Church, Painswick in December.
The choirs will be accompanied by Stroud’s Capriol Chamber Orchestra in a performance of Handel’s Messiah, together with a selection of other seasonal pieces, including some new arrangements specially written for the occasion by Michael Castle.
Both choirs are led by Andrew Hopwood, himself a professional singer and vocal coach.
“Handel’s Messiah is a great seasonal favourite and I am very excited to be bringing these two, very accomplished, choirs together to perform it,“said Andrew.
The Thames Head Singers still has some openings for new members, particularly Tenors and Basses, who would receive a warm welcome at rehearsals for the Christmas concert.
