ALLISON Lupton, the renowned Canadian singer songwriter and flautist, together with her band, is to perform at the Imperial Hotel in Stroud on July 19th at 8 p.m.
Archie Fisher, the Scottish Musician, said: “Allison Lupton’s balance of strong composition and sensitive musicality makes her a fine contemporary songwriter and interpreter of the tradition”. Allison’s band is composed of a stellar group of musicians, including veteran of the Canadian folk scene Ian Bell, acclaimed bass player Denis Rondeau, and Grand North American Fiddle Champion Shane Cook.
This is a rare opportunity to hear Allison perform in the UK. She and her band are playing a small number of dates on a short UK tour which includes the Hebridean Celtic Festival on the Isle of Lewis and the Warwick Folk Festival.
Allison and her band will be supported by Rod Penlington and Robin Burton of the Gloucester Diamonds.
Entrance is just £8. Tickets can be reserved by emailing Robin Burton on robin@robinburton.co.uk. Alternatively tickets can be bought on the door.
