STOCKHOLM soul and funk DJ, Henrik Åkerberg heads to Stroud for a night of all killer no filler dance music.
Saturday sees Henrik, who runs the Swedish capital’s Pacemaker Club, join forces with DJs Pav and Nick for the Mockers’ Summer Special.
“I started collecting fifties and sixties records when I was asked to DJ at the local Tiki bar in Stockholm 10 years ago,” said Henrik.
“Back then, I played Hawaiian, jungle exotica, surf, Latin and Calypso.
“Nowadays I collect mainly rare R&B, soul and blues.
“Over the years I have been lucky to be invited to various club nights in Europe, such as the Jukebox Jam (London), Band è Part (London), Soulful Turino (Turin - Italy), Jester Wild (Jena - Germany) and The Boiler (Barcelona - Spain).”
The Mockers Summer Special is at SVA, John Street, from 9pm to 3am.
