Karen Tweed, accordionist extraordinaire brings her intruiging, astonishing, delightful, mercurial and always decorative musical ideas to Lansdown Hall, Stroud on Friday 23 September, at 8pm.

Known for her collaborations with Kathyrn Tickell, The Poozies, Ian Carr, Chris Wood, Andy Cutting and Timo Alakotila, this special concert brings her back to her first musical love - Ireland - and she is joined by two of the finest interpreters of traditional Irish music - Tom McElvogue (flutes) and Ivan Miletitch (guitar).

This promises to be an intimate event showing Karen's ability to take the accordion into realms of beautiful lyricism from her solo project, 'Essentially Invisible to the Eye' and further into the mirth and swing of Irish music in this very spirited trio. Expect jigs, tango, airs and waltzes; mussettes, reels, polkas and polskas. . .and more, besides.

Karen is also a respected illustrator and designer which is now illustrated in her first publication of her compositions – some of which she will be playing, re-telling the stories behind them and she may even shed a little light on her other love, cartoons.
