STROUD resident and world renowned north Indian classical musician Sridhar plays magical evening raga on Sarod accompanied by Sanjay Jhalla on the rhythmic tabla.

The concert is set to take place at Stroud's Lansdown Hall on Saturday, September 24, at 7.30pm.

Sridhar, resident in Stroud since 1986, brings over 60 years of training and learning to his playing.

His music is described as ‘music for the soul’. Accompanied by Sanjay Jhala on tabla this will be a truly classical evening, evoking the centuries of music development from North India.

At the end of the concert there will be plenty of time for questions and answers about the music, the 25 stringed sarod and Sridhar’s knowledge of Naada yoga (the yoga of sound).

Tickets, at £12 and £10 (concs), are available from Girish Patel’s samosa stall at Stroud Farmer’s Market each Saturday. Otherwise reservations can be made by email: sricam2000@yahoo.com or by calling: 01453 751370.

Tickets will also be available on the door.

There will be samosas and chai in the interval and after the concert.

Audience members are invited to bring cushions, if they would like to sit on the floor.
