NIGEL Havers stars as King Rat in Swindon’s own enchanting pantomime adventure, Dick Whittington.

Nigel has been a star of stage and screen for 40 years and is well-known for a variety of roles.

On TV, he is most recently known for his role as love-rat Lewis Archer in Coronation Street, for which he won Best Exit at the 2013 British Soap Awards.

He also recently appeared in another of ITV’s top-shows, when he starred in the Christmas Special of Downton Abbey.

Pantomime favourite David Ashley returns to Swindon as Sarah the Cook and is joined by Lucy Kane as Alice Fitzwarren. This magical production will be spectacularly brought to life with an abundance of comedy, stunning sets and fabulous costumes – plus, as is tradition with the Wyvern Theatre’s annual pantomime, Dick Whittington promises plenty of audience participation.

Wyvern Theatre director, Derek Aldridge, said: “It is a real coup for Swindon to secure a pantomime star of Nigel Havers’ stature for this year’s production of Dick Whittington.

“Nigel will no doubt bring a certain element of charm to the role of King Rat, which will make audiences love to hate the royal rodent.”

Join Dick on his fun-filled quest for fame and fortune and to find the streets paved with gold! Will he win the hand of the lovely Alice – and will he defeat the dastardly King Rat? There’s only one way to find out...

Guaranteed to bring out the child in everyone, book your tickets today for the trip of a lifetime with the thrice Mayor of London!

The pantomime runs from Saturday, December 6 to Sunday, January 4, 2015.
