FROM February 13 - 15 six of British folk music’s finest performers will descend on Cheltenham Town Hall over three nights for Folk Three 2015.

The weekend features three headline acts and three support acts, with DJ entertainment before each concert, during the intervals and afterwards, bringing a contemporary dimension to the traditional concert format. A pop-up bar will be located at the back of the Main Hall, serving drinks throughout the concert, enhancing the experience with a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

Friday night features five-time BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winner Chris Wood and genre blending headliners Shooglenifty (featuring Kaela Rowan), whose music has been described as ‘acid-croft’ – which derives from the late 80s ‘acid house’ music genre and the word ‘croft’, which is a traditional Scottish rural dwelling.

Saturday night features the talented singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rory McLeod, whose career has included being a fire eater and circus clown. Folk music’s legendary father and daughter duo, Eliza and Martin Carthy, will headline the evening.

Sunday night features BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winner Blair Dunlop, who is joined by a band of outstanding musicians, followed by Mercury Music Prize nominee headliner Seth Lakeman to close the weekend.

Folk Three has been organised with the recommendations from folk music community experts and the new Folk Three programmer Tristan Glover, who is an international folk artist and member of the extremely popular group, The Chipolatas.

Gary Nejrup, Business & Entertainment Manager for Cheltenham Town Hall & Pittville Pump Room, commented: “Folk Three has attracted the interest of many high profile folk musicians, and we’re delighted to be able to offer such a strong line-up for 2015 and hope it will appeal to new and emerging, as much as established, folk music lovers.”
