SIMON Ryder will talk about his time as artist in residence at The Verne - an ex-prison which is now the UK’s newest centre for the deportation of illegal immigrants.
At Stroud Valleys Artspace this evening (Wednesday), from 7.30pm, he will explain why he invited a team of squash players to come and ‘play’ the cells, corridors and underground passageways of this extraordinary site. The talk will end with a showing of Ricochet, a film he made using heat-seeking infrared cameras.
