WOMAD’s younger festivalgoers will be spoilt for choice at this year’s Charlton Park gathering on 24-26 July.
From the countless free activities and workshops presented across the weekend in the World of Children, to the much loved Children’s Parade on Sunday afternoon – WOMAD will continue to celebrate its next generation of devotees in joyful style.
As ever, all children aged 13* and under get into WOMAD Festival 2015 for free.
New for 2015 is the Nomad Land Train designed to carry families weighed down perhaps by too many items and family members to make it all the way to the family campsite and back in one piece. The Nomad Land Train will run a designated course across the festival site all weekend.
Also, making his WOMAD debut, the hugely popular children’s TV presenter Andy Day will be bringing his Dino Rap and Songs to the Ecotricity Stage in the arboretum on Sunday afternoon.
The theme for this year’s Children’s Parade will by Myths, Legends and Folktales from Around the World.
All weekend the World of Children area will host a packed schedule of rolling/drop in workshops and activities all available on a first come, first served basis.
And, as ever, Carter’s Steam Fair returns to the WOMAD arena.
