YOUNG theatre company The Pantaloons are returning to the Bacon Theatre in Cheltenham with a comic adaptation of Macbeth on Friday, October 30.
Not for the faint-hearted, this is the story of how old King Duncan died. It is a story of murder and betrayal, and supernatural sorcery.
And it is a story that The Pantaloons Theatre Company plan to retell as you have never seen it before.
Taking their cues from film noir, gangland Britain and the clowning tradition, the company put their own contemporary spin on Shakespeare's most dangerous play.
Tragic and comic, this innovative take on 'The Scottish Play' features femmes fatale, high-speed chases, killer lines, killer crimes and some seriously weird sisters.
Speaking for the Bacon Theatre, Jess Waterman said: “The Pantaloons grace our stage once again, with their mad-cap version of Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
“They’ve only recently performed at our Open-Air Theatre Festival in the Tuckwell Amphitheatre, with Treasure Island and Much Ado About Nothing, but they are back with yet another brilliant twist on a classic.”
- Macbeth is at The Bacon Theatre, Dean Close School, Cheltemnham on Froday, October 30. Tickets cost £14, concessions £12. For more information and to book tickets visit bacontheatre.co.uk or call the Bacon Theatre on 01242 258002
