LOCAL theatre school Imagine Ciren is looking to put Cirencester at the heart of their inaugural Christmas production, with atmospheric evening performances of A Christmas Carol outside in The StableYard, Black Jack Street on Saturday, December 5 and 6.

The Charles Dickens’ classic has been adapted by Imagine Ciren founder, playwright James Rushbrooke.

The show will take you on a journey through the paths of the Stable Yard following Scrooge as he travels on a journey of self-discovery.

This high spirited rendition of a heart-warming classic is presented and performed by the students of Imagine Ciren with festive music and even a heavenly host of puppets.

The show uses an array of skills that students have learnt during their time at Imagine Ciren, such as Greek Chorus, site specific acting, puppetry, and physical theatre.

By pushing their skill set in all different directions the students have been able to create an exciting and innovative show.

The production is passionately supported by the surrounding businesses in Cirencester.

Heather's Café in the Stable Yard is also extending opening hours to 6pm on Saturday to supply pre-show refreshments.

Emily Thomson, one of the tutors at Imagine Ciren and director of the show, said: "We wanted to create a show that was different from the normal theatre that Cirencester experiences, and we were keen to put this production at the heart of the community.

“I don't know of any production that has used the architecture of Cirencester so intimately before.

“The students have done such a fantastic job; they've pushed themselves and the quality shows."
