THE Lucky Onion are opening the doors of their Cheltenham Town House, No.38 The Park for breakfast, supper and cocktails during The Festival 2016, March 15-18, with celebrated restauranteur Mark Hix taking over the kitchen on Wednesday, March 16.

No.38 will welcome racegoers attending the National Hunt’s biggest meet of the season at Cheltenham racecourse, a ten minute walk away, with breakfast and brunch served until noon and a Lucky Onion supper menu curated and hosted by Executive Chef Darren Brown.

The menu will focus on the best of British and seasonal ingredients, with breakfast options including Lambton & Jackson deep smoked salmon with scrambled Arlington white eggs.

The supper menu includes a starter of steamed Wye Valley asparagus with pink grapefruit hollandaise and crispy pigs head, followed by the mains, which features grass fed Cotswold Hereford Boston chop and Dorset blue lobster with wild garlic butter.

On Wednesday, March 16, The Lucky Onions welcomes chef, restauranteur and food writer, Mark Hix for a one off feast, with the bespoke menu created especially for the evening.

Mark is known for his original take on British cuisine, opening his first restaurant the HIX Oyster & Chop House in Smithfield in 2008.

He has since opened several other restaurants in both London and his home county of Dorset including the chicken and steak concept restaurants ‘Tramshed’ in Shoreditch.

Frequently lauded as one of London’s most eminent restaurateurs, Mark’s knowledge of ingredients and provenance will create a delicious menu for hungry race fans.

Throughout The Festival, there will be a Club Bar in the courtyard serving the Lucky Six Cocktail list which includes ‘The Red Splash’ named after the first winner of the New ‘Jumping’ Gold course in 1924, and ‘The Steeplechase Spritz’ paying homage to the modern course type of the Gold Cup.
