SECOND Face Theatre Company visit Stroud's Cotswold Playhouse this week, with a stunning adaptation of Charles Dickens' Great Expectations.

Pip came from humble beginnings, brought up by hand by his temperamental sister and her loveable husband, Joe.

After a brush with an escaped convict, and under the omnipresent and watchful eye of the damaged, ethereal Miss Havisham, Pip finds himself in London, gifted with wealth and opportunity from an unknown benefactor; but will he ever be able to leave his old life behind, and escape the emotional clutches of Miss Havisham and her beautiful young ward Estella?

Great Expectations takes us on a journey to explore the highs and lows of youth, love and the hand of fate.

Second Face uses five actors tell you the story of a young man with great expectations, jumping playfully between characters and settings, delighting audiences from start to finish.

Second Face Theatre Company return once again with a stunning adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations.

Following the success of past productions, Mouthing Off by Grasey Mayes and That Moment by Dougie Blaxland, this five star company returns with a new adaptation of a classic story.

Jazz Hazelwood, Artistic Director of Second Face Theatre Company, will be leading this show as writer and director.

The British Theatre Guide have said: “Second Face Theatre Company’s revival... more than tops the production that I first saw at The Underbelly. Jazz Hazelwood’s direction is spot on: unfussy, clear and with a real focus on the storytelling narrative that is at the heart of this delightful show”, giving five stars for That Moment by Dougie Blaxland during its tour in 2013.

Jazz has just completed two years as the Intern Director at the Rondo Theatre and has since been made one of their Associate Directors, and she is delighted to be taking on Great Expectations as her next project.

Performance is on Fri 1st July 7.30pm at The Cotswold Playhouse, Stroud.
