GLOUCESTERSHIRE school children showcase the county's wildlife at exhibition in Stroud.

The Wildlife Wonder Gloucestershire show opens at the Museum in the Park on Thursday.

Wildlife Wonder Gloucestershire is a unique and revealing portrait of the county’s natural diversity, as seen through the eyes of local primary school children.

Working with professional wildlife photographer, Iain Green, more than a thousand pupils from 30 schools have explored and photographed the nature on their doorstep during the past year.

Taking a wildlife safari in school grounds or beyond the gates to a nearby wildlife hotspot, children have studied spectacular snowdrops, experienced the awe and seasonal wonder of trees, discovered rhino beetles, rare butterflies, water voles and even adders. All photographs on display in the exhibition were taken by pupils.

As well as producing a stunning photographic study, the children have thoroughly engaged with the nature on their doorstep and become conservation champions.

Wildlife Wonder Gloucestershire Exhibition is open to all (free admission).

Pupil representatives from participating schools will also join together at a special exhibition preview and Eco-Summit – to share their experiences, images, learning and hopes for the future.

Wildlife Wonder Gloucestershire runs at the Museum in the Park from 29th September - 2nd October.
