THE Subscription Rooms have added their own day, on March 10, to the already packed Stroud Film Programme with an exploration of the impact film can have on our lives, be it through business, pleasure or by raising awareness for global politics and charitable foundations.

The day includes workshops for small businesses and some fascinating presentations and discussions by filmmakers, creative business experts and film festival directors.

Sarah Watson, who has helped put the day’s programme together said: “We have so many creative people from the film industry based around our district and it was wonderful that so many of them jumped at the opportunity to get involved with this year’s festival.

“The programme at the Subscription Rooms is one which you would expect to find in a large city and we can’t believe that we are able to include film premieres, some of the top experts from the industry and speakers who would normally be found on global stages.”

Events on the day include a presentation and Q&A with Ed Robinson, creative director at the Viral Factory, a company responsible for more than 150 viral internet campaigns with over 1.5 billion views.

Andy Poulton will give a business workshop on video marketing, David Owen, director and curator of the Bristol Palestinian film festival will give a talk and there will be a panel discussion about making an impactful film followed by the film premiere of Freedom & Safety, a documentary about work to help elephants roam safely in South Africa.
