POPULAR author, filmmaker and storyteller Pip Heywood will give a talk at Ruskin Mill in Nailsworth on Friday, March 17 at 8pm.
Following his evening at the Stroud Book Festival last November Pip will be introducing his latest book.
He will also show a new film made in a valley close to Ruskin Mill for the first time.
Pip, a documentary film editor for over 30 years, is also widely respected for his multi-layered autobiographical books, as well as his poems.
His last book, The Eye of the Hare was an autobiographical piece, which he applied his filmmaking craft to for a popular live performance for last year’s inaugural Stroud Book Festival.
The theme for the evening at Ruskin Mill will be Pip’s love of the landscape and walking which he inherited from his father, Oliver, a local landscape painter.
Pip’s talent is to weave together a stories that are not only deeply personal, but that also relate to all of us.
This special evening will include poetry, film and discussion about our environment, sense of place and the idea that we all benefit from a closer knowledge of a wood or a valley, from season to season.
- The event is free, but pre-booking a space is recommended.
