SATURDAY, April 22 sees The Gentlemen of St John’s College coming to Malmesbury Abbey, to perform a blend of early sacred music, folksongs and more modern close-harmony.

Starting at 7:30pm, tickets are £15, £5 for students. You'll enjoy a group versatile enough to shock and awe at home in churches, on the concert platform or in the dining hall.

Described by BBC Music Magazine as “an immaculately blended, responsive, interactive consort,” The Gentlemen of St John’s are famed for their “pure tone and controlled excellence.”

They are members of the Choral Scholars of the world-renowned, Gramophone award-winning Choir of St John’s College, Cambridge.

In addition to frequent broadcasts with the full Choir of St John’s College, they were recent guests on Radio 3’s In Tune. They also enjoy regularly leading workshops in the UK and abroad.

In recent years, The Gents have performed at such venues as London’s Cadogan Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall, Tokyo’s Suntory Hall and the Sydney Opera House, and recent performances have taken them to Bangkok, Singapore, America, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Italy and South Africa.

A typical concert programme includes renaissance polyphony and contemporary music written especially for the Gents, as well as spiritual arrangements, and brand new in-house arrangements of Gershwin standards and Beach Boys hits.
