COTSWOLD artist Nick Pike unveils new paintings at Hobbs House Bakery, Nailsworth on May 22. The exhibition will run until July 1.

‘Window to the Souls’ is a solo art exhibition and is a collection of Cotswold, nature, interior and people scenes painted by Nick in oil with sponges.

The contemporary paintings depict a number of souls – some human, some animal, occasionally dolls and even landscapes.

The exhibition explores aspects of daydreaming.

Nick said: "Through our imagination, we can give life and meaning to everything we see. This is multiplied when a window is added to provide another perspective or a different point of view.

"A special gift of painting is presenting a scenario that pushes the viewer to use their imagination to also visualise something beyond the artwork."

Established in the 1920s, Hobbs House Bakery is a family business with four shops. The art exhibition is in the upstairs café area of the bakery in Nailsworth.

Nick also has permanent art displays of portraits and Parisian artwork at the French Restaurant ‘L’Artisan’ in Cheltenham and ‘St Michael’s’ Bistro & Guesthouse at his hometown of Painswick.

He exhibits nationally, also selling original artwork and limited edition prints via his website.

Nick lives and works from his studio in Painswick, where he welcomes commissions.
