ACCLAIMED local Beatles tribute band All You Need Is The Beatles will be performing a special concert at the Subscription Rooms in Stroud on Saturday, June 3 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of The Beatles’ ground-breaking album, ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’.

The LP, which features classic Beatles songs such as ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’, ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, ‘When I’m Sixty-Four’ and ‘A Day In The Life’, will be performed in its entirety and the show will also feature many of The Beatles’ best-loved songs from all eras of their career.

Julian Pugsley, who plays the role of John Lennon in the band, said: “We are very excited about this concert as, to many people, ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ is The Beatles’ masterpiece.

"We will be performing the album in the first half of the show plus the two songs released as a single prior to its launch, ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’ and ‘Penny Lane’.

"In the second half of the concert, we will play a selection of The Beatles’ best loved songs from 1963 to 1970 designed to get fans up and dancing.”

Chris Scrivens, who plays Ringo Starr in the group and lives in Ebley, said: “This is the eighth year in a row we’ve performed at The Subscription Rooms and we love coming back. We always get a great reception. As it says on the record, ‘You’re such a lovely audience, we’d love to take you home.’”

All You Need Is The Beatles formed in 2006 and has performed all over the UK and Europe.
