THE Thames Head Singers will be performing an afternoon tea concert in the canal-side setting of St Cyr’s Church in Stonehouse on Sunday, July 9.

The programme includes something for everyone, including beautiful unaccompanied sacred music to classics from John Lennon and contemporary arrangements of traditional songs by Bob Chilcott.

The choir will also perform works by talented, local composer, Michael Castle whose arrangements of Van Morrison's 'Moondance' and Gershwin’s 'Summertime' are not to be missed.

The music will be complemented by tea and a selection of homemade cakes in the interval, all included in the ticket price.

The concert is supporting St Cyr’s Church.

The Thames Head Singers are a Stroud-based chamber choir, led by musical director Andrew Hopwood, who is also a professional singer and singing teacher.

Tickets for the concert are £10 including tea and cake. Available from St Cyr’s Church (07970 243657) and The Light Book Shop, Stonehouse or £12 on the door (under 16’s free).
