DON'T miss the Phoenix Festival when it returns for its fifth year, on the bank holiday weekend, August 26 and 27.

The much-anticipated free festival will be in the Abbey Grounds, Cirencester, with three stages featuring a wide variety of music, a performance arena, DJ bandstand and children's activities.

Headliners Los Palmas 6, a seven-piece top-class Madness tribute band will appear on Saturday, while David Live will pay tribute to the late David Bowie on Sunday.

The bandstand will be keeping the Drum & Bass rolling. Expect to see a few familiar Outlaw faces, as well as some special guest DJ’s. They will also be slotting in workshops each day for aspiring DJs.

Arena performances this year will include festival regulars, Phoenix Flames cheerleaders and Cirencester Creative Dance Academy, and on Sunday a one-off 30 minute theatre adaption of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

The ever-popular Decimal Skate Ramp with graffiti artists Visual Drop will return.

And the kids will stay entertained with a fun fair, tug of war, World Jungle circus, giant bubbles, African drumming, arts and crafts, and UV face painting.

Of course there will be a wide selection of food and alcohol to choose from.

“We feel very proud of what we’ve achieved over the last five years” said volunteer Event Manager, Glen Moreman.

“The Festival has really grown in size and quality. We are so very grateful to all our funders, supporters and volunteers and we hope with all their continued help we can develop and sustain the Phoenix Festival into the future.”
