SYDE Art Exhibition will be launched in style at 12pm on November 4, with a short recital by Nathaniel Mander and Sam Brown of works by Mozart, Bach and Rameau.
Housed in the Tithe Barn at Syde Manor (GL53 9PN), the exhibition will include ceramics, sculptures and paintings from three talented artists.
Emily van Eesteren is a ceramicist who concentrates on surface texture, using mainly fossils and shells. After a visit to Iceland she has developed a range of porcelain bowls filled with melted blue and green glass.
Meanwhile, Mick Ponting's sculptures are influenced by his experiences in outer Mongolia, as well as Paleolithic cave paintings. His anatomical knowledge from work as a veterinary surgeon has informed his bronze sculptures.
And finally, Norma Doveton has painted impressions of the village of Syde from photographic records both new and old.
The three of them together present this varied and impressive exhibition at Syde Manor from 10am-4pm each day until November 12, extended to 7pm on Wednesday, November 8.
