DURSLEY Male Voice Choir are now hard at work rehearsing for an intensive schedule of engagements over the Christmas period.

Barrie Cooper, the choir’s well-known and talented musical director, has planned a varied and interesting programme.

“I’m well aware that the traditional start of Christmas for so many people is marked by the Dursley Male Voice Choir Christmas Concerts,” Barrie explained.

“They are incredibly popular, so I’m endeavouring to provide something for everyone.

“Lots of folk attend our shows year after year as part of their seasonal celebrations and they tell me they really look forward to hearing their favourite carols as well as our new songs.”

See the choir on Saturday, December 9 at Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust, or on Sunday, December 10 at Frenchay Parish Church; both in aid of Headway Charitable Trust.

Or go along to another charitable gig at Southmead Hospital on December 11.

Then Friday and Saturday, December 15-16 sees the choir return to the Chantry Centre in Dursley, for its ever-popular sell-out Christmas Concerts.

Finally, the seasonal programme is completed on Sunday, December 17, when the choir performs in The Great Hall at Berkeley Castle in aid of the Berkeley Charitable Trust.

Tickets for this year’s Christmas Concerts are just £10 and can be purchased at Durcans in Long Street, Dursley, at Clutterbucks in Cam, or from any Dursley Male Voice Choir chorister.
