THOUSANDS of visitors flocked to last year’s Cotswold Show & Food Festival, making it one of the most successful in its 29-year history and this year organisers are hoping to make the weekend one to remember.

This year the Show which takes place on July 7 and 8 in Cirencester Park, will be commemorating the centenary of the end of World War I and 100 years of the RAF. The skies above the Show will feature aerial dogfighting from the Bremont Great War Display Team – biplanes and triplanes will engage in mock warfare for a thrilling display.

The Poppy Parachute Team, serving and former members of the British Army, will also be jumping in to the centre of the Bathurst Arena.

Brand new to the Show, the Savage Skills BMX Show is the UK’s leading freestyle mountain bike stunt team. They pride themselves on being the most accomplished stunt show team in the United Kingdom and quite possibly the World. The facts speak for themselves, with eight World and over 25 British Championship titles visitors are sure to see some of the most impressive tricks, jumps and stunts possible, many of which would not think possible on a bicycle.

Equine enthusiasts will love the Mounted Games Association of Great Britain - expect the most exciting and exhilarating competitions on horseback with riders racing against each other demonstrating speed, accuracy and horsemanship.

The Dog and Duck Show is also new to the Show this year - the most popular sheepdog display in the UK, providing highly entertaining sheepdog demonstrations with the aim of giving a better understanding of our canines' behaviour. The team rescue sheepdogs and use these trained and untrained dogs in the arena, educating and entertaining, while the dogs show their natural instincts as they herd Indian Runner Ducks.

The Cotswold Show & Food Festival, hosted by its founder, Earl Bathurst in Cirencester Park, remains one of the Cotswold’s most popular rural events. It promises a mix of family entertainment, arena attractions, with over 200 trade stands and food stalls, and will showcase the best of the British countryside, its history, traditions and produce.
