WELL-known youth theatre group, MJ-UK, returns to Cirencester's Bingham Hall this weekend, with its summer project, Alice in Theatreland.

The highly successful MJ-UK Music and Arts is a youth theatre group founded and run by international opera singer, Maria Jagusz, with occasional help from many of her famous contacts from the world of professional theatre.

The group offers young singers the chance to perform and to learn from people with expertise and experience.

Alice in Theatreland is a new musical written by Maria Jagusz and starring sensational young singers from across the Cotswolds.

For over 10 years, the company has been a conveyor belt of talent with many of its proteges going on to star in West End musicals and operas round the world.

Their summer and Christmas concerts in both Cirencester and Cornwall have become a much anticipated event in the music calendar.

Alice is a typical teenager, obsessed with her smart phone... until she meets the white rabbit and is taken on a magical adventure through Theatreland in search of her imagination.

With hits from Annie, Mary Poppins, We will rock you, The Phantom of the Opera, Into the Woods and The Greatest Showman, the musical has something for everyone.

See Alice in Theatreland on Saturday, July 28 7.30pm and on Sunday, July 29 at 4pm. The Sunday matinee is open to children of all ages, so that even very young children can experience a taste of the wonder of theatre. There will be a side room with books and toys where children who find it difficult to sit through the whole performance can play quietly.

Tickets are available from Cirencester Information Centre (Corinium Museum) starting at £5.
